ABOUT “THE FRIENDS”

dunstan.jpgThe Friends of St. Dunstan’s is an organisation dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the parish church of Cranbrook, Kent, England. Many of its members are regular worshippers, but others support us for historical, archeological, aesthetic or environmental reasons. Our links with the Parochial Church Council are strong and friendly, but we are an independent charity and restricted by our constitution to helping with the fabric and furnishings of the church. This enables members who are not great church-goers to contribute to the cause they value rather than to ecclesiastical administration. We raise money through subscriptions and cultural activities and have given large sums to structural repairs, stained glass windows, security and decoration. Hers is a link to the church website and another to the main website of The Friends.

The other pages we have created so far are THE TOWER and MOST WANTED PEOPLE and YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE and THINGS FRIENDS DO.

We keep learning about this blogging business. I find that if you put the pictures to the left of the page then the words crowd right up against them. But if you put them to the right the words have a tiny bit of space. Why? It’s a mystery to me.
